About parking jam
Parking jam is a car puzzle. A lot is packed with cars, each facing one way; you tap a car to drive it out of the lot, and work out the order that gets every car out without a crash.
How to play parking jam
Tap a car and it drives the way its arrow points. If the road to the edge is clear, it leaves the lot. If another car or a cone is in the way, it crashes into it and goes back to its spot. You have three hearts, and each crash costs one.
The puzzle is solved when the lot is empty. Out of hearts, you can start the lot again straight away, as often as you like.
Tips for clearing the lot
Start with the cars that can leave
A car with a clear road out only ever makes room. Send those first, then look at what they opened up.
Follow the arrow to the edge
Before you tap, run your eye from the car’s nose to the edge of the lot. One car or cone anywhere along that line means a crash.
Work back from the stuck ones
For a car that’s boxed in, find the car in its way, then the car in that one’s way. The last one in the chain is the one to send first.
Plan the police car first
On harder days the police car has to be out within a few moves, and its badge counts them down. Work out which cars stand in its way and clear those before anything else.
A new parking jam every day
Owlpuzzles has a new parking jam every day at midnight in your time zone, and it gets harder through the week. Monday and Tuesday have a 6×6 lot with about ten cars. Wednesday and Thursday add the police car with its countdown. Friday to Sunday have a bigger 7×7 lot with more cars and cones, and two-way cars that drive out whichever way is clear.
Every puzzle is checked by a solver before it goes out, so there’s always a way to empty the lot. When one a day isn’t enough, there are 300+ parking jam levels from easy to hard, and unlimited play for as many as you like.
Parking jam, traffic escape and unblock car
The same idea goes by a few names. Traffic escape, car out, parking escape and unblock car games all ask you to get cars out of a jam in the right order. Unblock me and rush hour are close cousins where cars slide back and forth to free one car. Here, every car has to leave the lot.
Questions about parking jam
Is parking jam free?
Yes. It plays in your browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install and no sign-up. A free account only keeps your streak and stats on every device.
Can every parking jam be solved?
Yes. A solver plays every lot before it’s published, so each one has a way out for every car.
Why did my car crash?
Something was in its way, somewhere between its nose and the edge of the lot. Clear that car first, then tap again.
What does the number on the police car mean?
It’s how many moves you have left to get the police car out. If it runs out, start the lot again and clear the police car’s way first.
Can I play parking jam unlimited?
Yes. Unlimited parking jam makes a new lot whenever you like, at easy, medium or hard.
